Entendre Joins MoonPay to Build the Agentic Financial Infrastructure

Entendre is joining MoonPay to build the accounting layer for agentic financial infrastructure.

We led Entendre's seed because we believed the next generation of financial infrastructure would need its own accounting layer. Every new rail to move, hold, and settle money creates a second-order problem: finance teams still have to reconcile, report, audit, and close on top of it.

We met Kareem while he was at CloudKitchens, now Atoms, led by Travis Kalanick, whose instinct was to build technology as an advantage rather than buy it. Kareem built an internal ledger that the company's financial products ran on top of, after building cash reconciliation at Workday and the revenue lifecycle at WeWork. He is an engineer who became a product expert, relentlessly obsessed with what an accounting and finance team actually needs. He knew how mission-critical reconciliation and journal mapping are. These systems sit between real-world activity and the numbers a company reports to its board, auditors, and regulators.

Entendre was built for that layer. It turned high-volume transaction streams into clean, audit-ready books automatically, doing continuously what used to take analysts and spreadsheets, and running at a scale that would normally take a much larger organization because AI agents did the work.

MoonPay is where this scales. It brings a meaningful customer base that needs exactly this, building across the new financial stack, from ramps and virtual accounts to cards and institutional products. Each of those has to be reconciled and reported before an enterprise will run on it. MoonPay saw that early as an investor in Entendre, and the accounting layer now gets to grow at MoonPay's scale, with Kareem joining as VP of Applied AI.

Congratulations to Kareem, the Entendre team, and MoonPay. We're excited to back the best founders spinning out of the most exceptional cultures, building AI that becomes category-defining infrastructure.
